Packing the night before, although I had been putting together clothes for the boys over the span of about a week. Here is a picture of our luggage (I forgot to take a picture before we left so this is from the hotel). We tied a green ribbon to all of our checked bags.
The boys love riding shuttles! Here we are on the airport shuttle from long term parking. Vlad tends to be hot which is why he is dressed in shorts and a t-shirt. Niko is like me and normal to chilly, hence his layers. He is also shy at times when strangers talk to him, but hoods or sunglasses make him feel more comfortable.
Luckily our family of 4 was swept into the pre-screening line and we cut a large amount of what would have been a normal check in.
Flying Southwest and wondering if our plane is one of the planes out the window.
We woke the boys and drove straight to BWI (about 1.5 hours from our home), so we stopped for breakfast at this diner. Here Mike and Vlad are having a friendly sword fight while we wait for our food.
Touching the plane before boarding. Thank goodness for early boarding for families with little ones.
The friendly flight attendants came right over to the boys with activity books and stickers.
Vlad asked to sit by the window and had fun with the shade. Niko is using his E-reader (Fisher Price IXL). Mike is adjusting Vlad's E-reader for him.
Niko and I proving you can cram two into the bathroom on the plane. He's also showing off his wings sticker the flight attendant gave to him.
Niko has moved onto doodling on his Leap Frog Pad. Both boys handled the flight very well. Niko had to use the bathroom during landing (despite having used the bathroom ealier) which resulted in some crying, but I'm happy to say there were no accidents and the passengers around us were very kind. Next time we will skip the free drinks.
Niko also doodled on himself. His marker wasn't secure during the landing and quickly rolled to the front of the plane. I was sure we would never see it again, but our fellow passengers handed it back row by row.
Vlad excited to use the escalator (it's the little things that keep our adventures exciting) to claim our luggage.
Grabbed our bags and headed to grab a taxi (our hotel didn't have a shuttle).
View from our room at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
Another view from our room.
Niko passed out early for a nap.
Then woke up to cuddle on my lap as I planned out our adventures for the week.
Room service brought us a taste of the popular local treat, toasted ravioli.
What are your air travel tips for flying with your family? How do you occupy your little ones when traveling?
